Pál Germuska is a historian with interest in history of military industry, East-West economic relations, industrial and economic policy of the Socialist period. (ORCiD ID) He holds his PhD in urban history from the Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest (2002). In 2019, he received the Doctor of Science degree from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. Since July 2019, he is Deputy Director General at the National Archive of Hungary in Budapest. His recent book on CMEA defence production cooperation (Unified Military Industries of the Soviet Bloc: Hungary and the Division of Labor in Military Production. Lanham: Lexington Books) came out in 2015. His latest publication: Balancing between the COMECON and the EEC – Hungarian elite debates on European integration during the long 1970s, Cold War History. .

His contribution in the project analyses Hungary’s internal discussions on European integration and its envisaged role in pan-European cooperation.
